Relive computer OS history with The Restart Page

Out of all the computer innovations that remain temporarily, only to be superseded by what's 'new,' one implementation remains: the restart screen.

Burnt permanently into our retinas as an experience of both explicit annoyance and implicit pride as it becomes our one drawing connecton to our machines of old.  It's something you don't quite recognise the connotations of, until you experience The Restart Page, and take a journey through the history of computer OS reset sequences.

Best enjoyed full-screen.

Stumbleupon

Spin the wheel, or click the Stumble button, and see what you find on the world wide web. It's not as broad as it sounds, don't worry, you simply choose some interests you are interested in and StumbleUpon will generate a website or photo relative to your interests.

It's very rare, in the month I've been addicted to it, that this website brings forth bad results. This is primarily because StumbleUpon learns your favourite interests, through straight forward 'Thumbs up' and 'Thumbs down' buttons. An effortlessly easy to use website which helps you discover the areas of the internet you're interested in, and didn't know existed.

The Sixty One

TheSixtyOne is a web based musical journey for users to discover singer/songwriters. The simple web page is a background image, chosen by the artist, a control panel for musical directions (play, pause, volume, skip, add to playlist), a panel to discover new types of songs, for example you can choose a song set to a mood you're in, and a panel to share, comment, download or 'heart' a track.

This simple site is a gold mine of passionate artists who leave little messages, a mini bio, over their background image for users to read whilst listening and discover more about the artist and the song. If you haven't signed up already, do so now, it's free and it's a musical adventure not to be missed.
