Megaupload promotional music video gets pulled

It's kind of surreal to see the likes of Kanye West, Mary J. Blidge, Will.I.Am and Kim Kardashian performing in a promotional music video for file sharing site Megaupload; but that's exactly what's happened, which was faced with an immediate removal by Universal Music Group.

This comes after all the recent fire that the service has come under from multiple government organisations for facilitating piracy, which prompted a response from Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom in the form of a music video.  Featuring such artists as P Diddy, Will.i.am, Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Lil John, Mary J. Blidge and Jamie Foxx.  These artists rapping and singing their praises for the service probably pertain to the more legitimate uses of the service for the creation and sharing of content; but we can't help but find the song a) terrible and b) something you'd never expect to see.

Shortly after it's posting online, it was removed by Universal Music Group for reasons unknown, which has caused Megaupload and its founder to kick up quite a fuss.  This has been accused as an abuse of power by UMG, Dotcom even called them "criminals" who are "sending illegitimate takedown notices for content they don't own."

As we've only heard one side of the story thus far, we're looking forward to seeing how this develops.  Take a look at the 'incriminating' video below.
