Amazon Kindle Fire, Touch and Classic announced.

Amazon have announced three new entries into their Kindle range today at their Keynote. The $79 (£89) classic: the budget e-reader, the $99-$139 Kindle Touch (UK price unnanounced) and the $199 Kindle Fire (A Blackberry Playbook you'll actually want). These represent competition both for the e-reader market, which is already being dominated; but also the tablet market as they're offering a premium specs (dual core, ips display, etc) at a low price. Intact all the budget price points come courtesy of an interesting ad display system for a price subsidy. Of course these can be eliminated from the product by paying a premium; but I pose it to you, do you look at the writers' portraits displayed on the lockscreen as is? Take the hit. Its just ads. See the press release here.
