Slipknot members establish film production company

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and percussionist M. Shawn Crahan (a.k.a the Clown) are set to lift the veil on a new production company, Living Breathing Films, at the Sundance Film Festival next week.

This eclecticist outfit, ran by self-admitted movie buffs (Corey bought $10,000 worth of DVDs when Slipknot began to make money) seems to be aiming straight down the same vein as the band they originate from.  "Our movies are going to be psychological. They’re going to affect you. When The Exorcist came out people got up and left after 15 minutes and that turns us on," Crahan told Rolling Stone.  "If I haven’t got someone to leave in five minutes for at least one of my films then I’m not doing my job."

Plans seem to stretch out into the future, with the two taking a hands on approach: Crahan looking to be the director, while Taylor writes and stars in the films

"We’re looking to basically break ground on it this year. We’re obviously going to make sure that it doesn’t conflict with the future Slipknot touring stuff. But it’s important for us to learn first before we just kind of jump in."  Taylor comments.

They will be attending Sundance with a short film they made in the space of a few days, consisting of the two being zip tied with bags on their heads, walking through thorns...no it's not act. "When Corey screamed, 'Fuck,' he meant fuck because he was getting a thorn slicing across his chest. And that’s what we are; we live our art, we breathe it."
