A New Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Game Is Coming Out This Year...
Remember that Sega Mega Drive/Genesis you have in the attic? Time to go find it, as developer WaterMelon Corp is releasing a new game for the classic console. Named Paprium , this classic beat-em-up has been in the works for four years.
From the trailer (which you can check out down below) it certainly meets the developer's description of a “post-apocalyptic, outrageous, street brawler.” It definitely looks like a throwback to the classic Genesis games you would've played as a kid!
Quoting from the website:
“Year 8A2, somewhere at equidistant point between Shanghai, Tokyo, and Pyongyang, a Megapolis rose from ashes of the shortest but most devastating nuclear war in history, its name is PAPRIUM. BRUTAL, MASSIVE. You will fight your way through the city with Tug, Alex, and Dice. Redefine the word justice, deal with the BLU drug temptation, and more importantly: STAY ALIVE!”
With over 25 levels and over five playable characters, the game will come on an 80-meg cartridge - available in America, Europe and Japan. Don't worry, there are no region locks on any of the game carts.
The logical controller for a beat-em-up is the classic joystick, which is what they're bringing to the table with the Grand Stick III. With dual connectivity for both the Genesis and USB, usability isn't just limited to one game!
So get that console ready, blow off the dust and pre-order now for launch on September 16 2017.
