Tuesday Trends 2nd August

Another week, another look at some of the top twitter trends from the last seven days.

#dearyoungself is pretty much what it sounds like. The advice that you would give your younger self if you could communicate with it/you. I expected the majority of these to be regrets and missed opportunities, and yet the most retweeted example was "#dearyoungself you are beautiful the way you are" which is for more positive than what I'd expected.

#justinbieber is riding high this week, as always. I've already run out of things to say about the nice, young Canadian boy trending all the time. 

#reasonstobeatyourgirlfriend is the most alarming of this weeks popular trends. Fortunately most of the tweets that have contributed to it's continuing trending status, are tweets of disgust and anger that it's trending, thereby accidentally contributing to what they hate. I couldn't find the originator, but I hope like #blamethemuslims last week this was started as misunderstood irony.
