Welcome to my portfolio

Over the past decade, it has been my dream to enter a career in editorial and content creation — specifically in gaming and technology. Now, I am living that dream as Managing Editor, Computing at Tom’s Guide.

In this portfolio, I will show you the best of my work across many content formats.

This starts with my freelance efforts for the likes of Kotaku, BBC and Stuff Magazine over seven years, alongside big hits on my own channels, and my full-time work.

Examples of my work

Currently, I am Managing Editor, Computing for Tom’s Guide. This role includes managing a small team of incredible writers, with the key goal of informing and inspiring our readers about the present and future of computing.

Previously, I worked as a content editor for Laptop Mag. This role included news and review writing about mobile tech, computing and gaming, editing the content of a small team, overseeing the social media strategy, filming/editing my own videos, and maintaining our site’s effective affiliate deals content rollout.

I was also deals writer for Tom’s Hardware, and contributed to a 30% year-on-year increase in revenue.

Before this, I regularly contributed to Stuff Magazine - check out my pieces here.

Video content

Starting as a hobby during lockdown, I have been gaining experience across key areas of video production, from live streaming on Twitch and creating quick, engaging TikToks, to filming/editing polished videos for YouTube. This expands beyond the content itself, however — gathering knowledge in the platforms themselves to ensure my work is easily searchable, well engaged and performs at its best.

To my recent content for my own channel, Tom’s Guide and Laptop Mag, watch the playlists below across technology and gaming.

Best of my blog…

Over a decade of writing hundreds of blogs about gaming, technology, science and geek culture, I’ve been incredibly lucky to be given some amazing opportunities based on the strength of this brand. Here are just a few of my favourite pieces that reflect this.

Podcast

Bringing you the laughs of leaving work on Friday and heading straight to the pub in podcast form - The Virtual Pub was a regular episodic show in which me and my friends cracked open a couple of beers, discuss the latest news and have a laugh over a pub quiz. At it’s peak, the show had over 2,000 listeners.
