iPhone 4S re-affirms Apple's dominance
We hate to say we told you so.
Just as we wrote about last week, despite a fairly muted, almost hateful reception by the internet masses upon announcement (we’ll have to wait a little longer for the 'teardrop' iPhone 5), turns out we all did the expected and fell in love with the iPhone 4S. It's set to break numerous records when it is launched later this week. Following on from confirmation that the 4S had exceeded one million pre-orders in its opening 24 hours on sale, it’s now reported that over three million pre-orders have been placed. In fact, such is the demand for the 4S – see our live unveiling impressions here – that the figure is, quite staggeringly, double that seen from the iPhone 4’s launch just over a year ago (a phone which went on to become the world’s best-selling smart-phone, of course). Stock is understandably running low, with delivery estimates on Apple’s official website now indicating a 1-2 week estimate. Samsung Galaxy S2, move aside: this is Apple’s territory.
