'Homesick.' Lucky Pause Kickstart Their Debut Game

Homesick, a truly gorgeous adventure/puzzle game, reminiscent of Myst and other precious gems from a bygone age is making the rounds on Kickstarter. With almost half of their $8,000 goal pledged, they need a little more help from you to see their vision come to life.

What little we see of the game looks like it has every potential to be an incredible experience. From the environments that are beautiful in their decay, quietly rotting away to a charming, serene soundtrack courtesy of musician Joy Autumn, to the more frantic-looking nightmare worlds, in which the elegant ruin is distorted with a flurry of what looks like liquid darkness.

The plot sounds familiar – you are somewhere you don’t recognise, with no memory of who, where or what you are, and you must solve puzzles and brave your nightmares in order to make sense of it all.

This immersive, amnesiac style has proven immensely popular through indie hits like Dear Esther, and that style of ultra-immersive explorative gameplay can only be improved with the addition of puzzles and mysteries with which to keep your mind alert and receptive to the atmosphere.

If you can get over the fact that the company is managed by a dog, then head over to their Kickstarter Page and make a pledge. As little as $10 will get you a copy of the game and thanks in the credits; as you get more and more generous the rewards increase from a simple name-drop in-game, to your likeness being recreated as a statue that will serve prominently in the game itself.
