Google Earth Announces Support For Leap Motion Gesture Control
To celebrate Earth Day, Google Earth today announced support for Leap Motion's touch-free 3D motion controller, letting you navigate Google Earth with simple hand gestures.
Using Leap's API, Google have been applied a wide variety of hand gestures and spatial movements to control the various parts of Earth.
"Google Earth combined with Leap Motion's 3-D, touch-free technology feels so incredibly immersive - people feel connected to the world in a new and compelling way," Michael Buckwald, co-founder and CEO, Leap Motion commented.
The Leap Motion will be shipping soon, both as a standalone product and built into HP laptops. But in the meantime, they have set up a Youtube playlist detailing experiences as they #LeapInto Google Earth. Well worth watching them all to get a scope of just what this innovative piece of kit can do.
Happy Earth Day!
