This Power Rangers reboot is as dark and brutal as it should be
Remember the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers? Of course you do, chances are it was one of your favourite Saturday morning shows back in the day. The "teenagers with attitude" have grown up, as they fight a bloody intergalactic war in a dark over-the-top action short known as Power/Rangers.
Just imagine what it would be like if Michael Bay directed a reboot, then you'd be on the right tracks. We're not sure if the original writers would like this brutal turn (check out our interview with Jack Olesker).
Starring the likes of Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica, James Van Der Beek from Dawson's Creek and former Pink Ranger Kimberly Hart, this amazing 14-minute short tells the story of a future taken over by the Machine Empire. Rocky has betrayed his former teammates, hunting down each one in the most violent, tragic way possible. Not even Morphin' time or Zordon can save them! This is a great trip down memory lane, directed by Joseph Kahn of "Blank Space" fame, which puts you in the mood for the upcoming film reboot.
Here's the behind the scenes from the director, explaining why he bootlegged the Power Rangers.
