The Future Human Needs To Learn To Trust Charities, Research Shows
Research shows over a quarter of people no longer trust charities in the UK. With many societal and physical problems affecting us all, this needs to change. Luckily, there may be hope…

The bidding for 'A piece of cardboard (shaped a bit like an iPhone 5)- USED' has been stopped at £200,100 by eBay. Blizzard Auctions Off World of Warcraft Servers For Charity
In late 2010, Blizzard Entertainment recorded that it had over 12 million subscribers actively paying for fantasy MMO World of Warcraft. As of the end of September last year, the company reported its subscriber base had slumped to just over 10 million – though, we assure you, that is still a gargantuan number for online gaming.
The drop in players alerted the company that it would have to change tact going forward if it was to compete against free-to-play games of the same ilk; amending its seemingly age-old payment model to free-to-play (at least until level 20 in-game), while performance upgrades and expansions keep the game feeling fresh for existing players. The latter has resulted in Blizzard upgrading the game’s server hardware in order to improve the “gameplay experience” across the board, leaving the company’s much-cherished, ever-dependable older servers out in the cold. An Interview with Orangutan Outreach
The name “orangutan” literally translates into English as “man of the forest”. It comes from Malay and Bahasa Indonesian orang (man) and hutan (forest).
Hitting viral news recently, the Orangutan Outreach charity effort has asked Apple to add a dedicated "Apps for Apes" category to their app store. This followed remarkable results the zoo keepers saw when giving the primate an iPad, allowing enrichment through the likes of Skype, video and picture drawing apps. Regardless of what sort of response (if any) they will receive off the Cupertino based technology company, it shone a spotlight on their conservation efforts.
The Orangutan is a critically endangered species, and the goal of the outreach is to save these highly intelligent creatures. Public support is more important than ever to protect and care for them. We instantly became fascinated by the curiosity that the Orangutans showed to this technology, and had to find out more. We spoke to Richard Zimmerman, Executive Director of Orangutan Outreach.
Humble Indie Bundle 4 released in time for Christmas
Gamers are a tricky bunch to buy for around Christmas. Now, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor and Battlefield might be totally different properties to you and I, but try telling that to your nan. She has the unenviable task of picking out this year's must-have from a shelf full of has-been shooters and copy-cat clones. No wonder you end up with the wrong game under the tree. Oh, and when they do get it right, it's most probably for the wrong console. Try again next year.
New Humble Bundle out today
The third in Wolfire Games' Pay-what-you-want indie game selections released today, titled the Humble Voxatron Debut.
Just one game this time: Voxatron, a voxel-based platformer-shooter with open-source support for content generated by the user. The game has been released in a Minecraft-like alpha state, with those buying the game guaranteed access to all of developer Lexaloffle's future content updates.
