Scientists Turn Live Snail Into A Battery

A team of researchers from Clarkson University, New York and Ben-Gurion University, Israel have turned a snail into a cybernetic power generator.  Probably one of the more rapid-moving stories involving such a creature.

The electric current happens through many electro-chemical reactions through out the snail's "hemolymph," a.k.a the invertebrate's blood.  The experiment maybe pretty interesting by itself; but as the icing on top the cake of utter fascination, the conceptual use of this technology is a sustainable form of power for listening devices operated by U.S. Homeland Security.

The gastropod may not make such a convenient play on words such as using a bug as a bug; but be careful what you say in your back garden in the future..
