Scientists Reveal We Have 1.75bn Years Of Life Left On Earth
Scientists from the University of East Anglia have concluded that living on Earth will only be possible for another 1.75 billion years. That is assuming we don't nuke ourselves and the planet out of existence first.
In stats published by researchers at the School of Environmental Sciences, they suggest that in 1,750,002,013 years, the sun will have expanded to a point where living on Earth would be a complete impossibility. All water on the planet will have completely evaporated, and everything apart from a few "microbes in niche environments" will be wiped out.
Andrew Rushby, leader of the research team in this area has already thought of a backup plan: “If we ever needed to move to another planet, Mars is probably our best bet. It’s very close and will remain in the habitable zone until the end of the Sun’s lifetime - six billion years from now”.
Well at least humanity has over 1.5 billion years to find somewhere new to live.
