Uber’s Released A List Of The Weirdest Things People Have Left In Their Rides
Uber has released a ‘Lost & Found Index,’ detailing some of the possessions people have reported lost. From the usual items like a missing cell phone to the weirder items like a “Meat packet” and some Valium, it’s clear the human race is still as gloriously strange as ever!
Used to promote the super helpful feature of communicating directly with your driver about lost items (just tap “help” in the menu section and report your issue from there), it certainly breaks down the barriers of embarrassment surrounding this feature when you realise what others have admitted to losing.
Firstly, here are the top ten most commonly forgotten items in Ubers:
- Phone
- Ring
- Keys
- Wallet
- Glasses
- Purse
- License/ID

The data by Uber goes much deeper too, looking at the info on their release. Los Angeles officially takes the crown as the most “forgetful” city in North America, most people lose their items on a Sunday and the no.1 most forgetful day in 2016 was October 30.
But the most interesting point to me was when the company looked at the frequency of certain lost items, correlating it to days of the week.
On Sundays, Uber sees the biggest spike in lost wedding dresses. Skateboards are reported missing the most on Monday. Swimmers are plagued with missing swimsuits the most on Tuesdays. Don’t think about taking notes on a Wednesday, as there is the biggest spike in lost notebooks.
As for Thursdays, you better believe that’s the nightmare day for holiday-goers and lost suitcases, and for businessmen on Friday with lost briefcases. And the ultimate on Saturday… With a spike in lost plane tickets, you can wave goodbye to those holidays!
It’s certainly peculiar, but fun to know that the human race is still pretty weird.
Alongside the scientists, 50% of the British public and the future health of young people across the nation, I have one simple request: delay Freedom Day, please.
