'Tinder.' New App Streamlines The Dating Process To 'Hot Or Not' Basics
We're all used to the notion of online and mobile dating by now; OKcupid, Match.com, eHarmony, the list continues to grow. To some extent, it makes sense -- modern life is becoming more and more hectic with most people working longer hours, and many no longer have the time to have relationships grow organically. But Tinder, a new dating app for your phone, has refined the art down to a basic "hot or not" principle.
Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs Biopic To Feature Just Three, 30 Min Scenes
You have to admire the ballsiness if nothing else, as screenwriter of The Social Network and The Newsroom creator Aaron Sorkin has revealed his intentions to structure the much-anticipated Steve Jobs biopic on top of just three 30-minute scenes, presented in real-time, at key Apple product launches.
Apple Awarded Design Patent On A Rectangle With Rounded Corners
The US Patent and Trademark Office issued Apple a design patent on rectangular devices with rounded corners.
Patent no. D670,286 pertains to the "ornamental" design of the iPad, and essentially covers a "Portable display device" that's a rounded rectangle. While it will cover Apple's claims to innovating such a design, the usefulness of such a vastly broad patent is questionable.
eBay Bidding War For 'A Piece Of Cardboard Shaped A Bit Like An iPhone 5' Reaches Over £200,000
The bidding for 'A piece of cardboard (shaped a bit like an iPhone 5)- USED' has been stopped at £200,100 by eBay. The product was removed on the grounds of 'false advertising' (surrounding calling it an iPhone 5); but has been claimed as a charity effort by supporter Julia McGill on her Just Giving page.
Apple Brand Loyalty Is Declining, Study Shows

Tim Cook was asked for his thoughts on Microsoft's new Surface tablet during Apple's Q4 2012 results conference call, to which his response, while noted he hadn't tried one for himself yet, was that the device is "a fairly compromised confusing product."
iPad 3 Vs. iPad 4. What's Changed Exactly?
Last night must have been a bit of a blur for Apple fans the world over. Not only did Tim Cook and co. take to the stage to unveil the long-mooted iPad Mini, but the company revealed new upgrades to the iMac (calling it “the most beautiful iMac we have ever made”), Mac Mini and lifted the curtains on a 13-inch ‘Retina’ MacBook Pro. But there was yet one more announcement, and that was for the iPad 4.

Apple Appeal Fails, Ordered To Run Samsung ‘Apology’ Ads
In the latest verdict in a long line of patent disputes between the two technology giants, a UK judge has sided in favour of Samsung in an ongoing case over design patents relating to the iPad. With it, Apple will be ordered to run advertisements in British newspapers and magazines, as well as its website, stating that Samsung did not infringe Apple’s design patents.
Has Microsoft's Surface Been Priced Out Of The Market?
'Tablet talk' is becoming ever-more regular around these parts. Sleek, black, slate-like tablet PC's seem to be everywhere these days. From the top-end range featuring Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 all the way down to the likes of ASUS's lovingly-refined Nexus 7 and Amazon's up and coming Kindle Fire HD, there's not a consumer electronic in sight that has appeared to have such an explosive arrival onto the scene.
‘iPad Mini’ And 4G iPad 3 Rumoured To Be Announced Within Days
“7-inch tablets are tweeners: too big to compete with a smartphone, and too small to compete with an iPad. They are going to be DOA [Dead On Arrival].” So said ex-Apple CEO Steve Jobs during an Apple earnings call in October 2010, resolutely shunning any idea that the so-influential tech giant would follow suit of its competitors and opt for a smaller-sized tablet.
Why I'm Buying The iPhone 5, And Why You'd Be Wise To Do So Too
The iPhone 5 wasn't the revolutionary device people anticipated. I get that. The feeling of solidarity through disappointment about the sizeable lack of innovation from the last generation (which had already stung many before with a near identical device compared to the year before that) has been felt by even those faithful solely to Apple. This should have been the phone they announced in 2011.
So why do I find myself as one of the two million who ordered the phone within the hour? After so many blog posts rallying against the purchase of the iPhone 5, recommending such a device is going to be an impossible task.
Why I'm Not Buying The iPhone 5, And Why You'd Be Wise Not To Too
A year ago, the feverish anticipation built up for the latest Apple conference proved unsubstantiated. With many expecting the long-awaited unveil of the iPhone 5, the reveal of a slightly-updated iPhone 4 with voice assistant Siri meant many were left a little cheated. As is tradition, sales told a different story, with consumers lapping up the 4S in droves despite such minute changes over its predecessor. Tomorrow, the cycle starts up again.
iPhone 5 'Shatters' 4S Sales Record, Tops 2 Million Sales In 24 Hours
We knew it'd break records, AT&T confirmed as much earlier today, but even so we weren't quite ready for the frankly astounding sales figures Apple quotes the iPhone 5 took within its first 24 hours up for pre-order.
Amazon Becomes The New Apple
On September 12th, Apple took to the stage and did two things. They made several key product announcements, and seemed to lose the very essence which gave the company their unique place in the technology space. On September 6th, Amazon presented themselves as a company with the ability to 'Think Different,' taking that same value from Cupertino and superseding their ambition.

Forget The iPhone 5 For A Moment, New Touch And Nano Detailed
The iPhone 5 will quite rightly take the lion's share of coverage from Apple's feverishly-anticipated conference earlier today, but that isn't all that is new.
iPhone 5 Announced
Apple have officially announced the next generation of the iPhone, fortunately sticking to the product numbering logic set by the previous four iterations with the name 'iPhone 5.'
