Next Generation Xbox To Be Unveiled On May 21st

Invitations have been released for the announcement of a next-generation Xbox in Redmond on May 21st.  Ever since Sony announced the PS4 two months ago, all eyes have been on Microsoft to see how their new console will stack up.  At 10am Pacific Time on the 21st of next month, Microsoft's Don Mattrick will reveal the "Xbox 720."  And while it will be limited to select press, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has confirmed the event will be streamed live.

NASA Mars Rover Draws Giant Penis On The Surface Of Red Planet

Anybody who has kept up with the Curiosity Rover's antics on Twitter will know NASA has a cheeky sense of humour, but we never expected this.  Looks like an employee has used the Rover to draw a giant penis on the surface of Mars.  The photo in question shows one of Spirit’s or Opportunity’s tyre tracks leaving a very appendage-looking impression in the Martian dust.

'Obake' Elastic Touchscreen Prototype Allows Literal Pinch To Zoom

 

We've seen touchscreen technology evolve over the years; but it has never really developed further than pressing against a flat display.  However, a new prototype called 'Obake,' designed by Dhairya Dand and Rob Hemsley of MIT's Media Lab, hopes to change this with an elastic screen - bringing a literal meaning to gestures such as pinch-to-zoom.

Max Weber was born near Stuttgart, Germany in 1990. After an intership at a local design agency he became interested in the underlying structures that make up a brand, logo or concept. Combining his passion for music and sound with his design experience, he started studying audio design.
Although he is curious about a multitude of subjects, Max's primary interest is in the procedures at work behind art forms. A group of Indian engineering students have designed a wearable solution to a terrible problem: a bra that can give a would-be rapist a literal 3800kv shock.

Manisha Mohan, a student at SRM University in Chennai, saw the aftermath of the gang rape and murder of a student, and how reluctant the government was to help. So she and two friends, Niladhri Basu Bal and Rimpi Tripathi, decided to use their scientific knowledge to provide a form of protection.
